1. Students can tell what their Chinese zodiac animals are. 2. To know the Chinese Zodiac culture. 3. To learn the names of the 12 Shengxiao. 4. To sing a Chinese Shengxiao Song. 5. The students are able to say Chinese words about furniture —— bed(床), sofa(沙发), table(桌子) and chair(椅子), 衣柜 (yī guì) , 书架 (shū jià) etc. 6. The students are able to use the sentence pattern “What’s this? (这是什么?)This is…(这是......) ” to talk about the four furniture piece in Chinese. 7. know and recognize the following body parts and action words: 头 (head),眼睛 (eyes),鼻子 (nose),嘴 (mouth),耳朵 (ears),脸 (face),手 (hand),脚 (leg),手臂 (arms),腿 (leg),膝盖 (knees),肩膀 (shoulders), 拍(clap), 摸(rub/ touch) 8. Use the following sentence structures to describe a person: 他有一双大眼睛,我有一个小鼻子,他有一张小嘴巴。 9. Sing the song Two Tigers and change the lyrics using the body parts they learn. 10. They will know about the evolution of Chinese calligraphy. 11. They will be able to hold a writing brush and write in a right gesture. 12. They will be able to do the calligraphy practice.

1. Ss will have learnt the meaning, pronunciation of “lion, tiger, rabbit, fox, giraffe, owl, penguin”by recognizing them from flash cards during the morning meeting and be able to describe them as “small” or “big” by distinguishing the baby animal and the grown-up animal. 2. Ss will have recycled and reused the names of colors such as “red, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown and grey” while they are describing the baby and grown-up animals.

The students should be able to understand and use the sentence patterns to make dialogues 你有宠物吗? 你有几只狗/猫/鸡……? 有/没有 The students will know the meaning of 宠物 and 动物. The students will know about the different measure words for different animals.

This is the lesson after Feb vocation, kids are not quiet familiar for the things they learned after a long vocation. so I made another Chinese book for kids to review and practice all the things about introduction,such as: my name is.., I like red/ blue, I like apples/grapes, I like cats/dogs. the only new phrase for this class is I am 5/6 years old. and I think it is a good idea to have them learning and practice with this book.

Students will be more familiar with the animals learnt cattle,pig,dog, sheep,cat, chicken, panda, dragon and phoenix. 2. 90% of the students will identify the pronunciation and say the animal pig,cattle, sheep, dog, cat. chicken, panda, dragon and phoenix. 3. Students will have an idea of the order of 12 Chinese zodiacs. 4. Students will know which year they were born and how to calculate their family and friends' zodiac year.
