It is a class in which I teach my Arabic I students at Campus International High School how to ask and answer questions about their lives, families and jobs. We are acting out a scene of a person who has just met some people at a public place for the first time, and he asks them questions and answers some of their questions in Arabic. . By the end of the unit, the students will be able to ask and answer general questions about themselves and families. They also will be able to conduct an interview with some people.

1. Students will be able to grasp the pinyin and pronunciation about the 19 words about the school and classroom supplies. 2. Students will be able to match the Chinese Characters, pinyin and the English meanings through Flash Card Activity. 3. Students will be able to use the new words through various activities on quizlet. 4. Students will be able to finish a quizlet test about the 19 words. 5. Students will be able to have group competitions several times on quizlet live and the winners can get stickers as small gifts. 6. Students can present a short passage with the two sentence patterns: There are ……in my backpack; (我的书包里有……) (at least 8 items) There are ……in my Chinese classroom(我的中文教室里有……) (at least 8 items)

By the of the lesson students will be able to: 1- Recognize the type of shelter they live in using Arabic. 2- Recognize the different rooms and inside the house in Arabic. 3- Recognize different items in each room in Arabic. 4- Ask and answer about specific items in every room. 5- Design a poster for a picked room and its item with writing the question and answer below the drawing.

Ss know how to introduce their names in Mandarin. Ss know how to say “I’m a girl/boy. I’m not a boy/girl” in Mandarin. Ss know how to write the following characters: 田(field),力(strength),男 (male),女(female) Ss know how to say man, woman, male teacher/student, female teacher/student in Mandarin.

By the end of the lesson, my students at campus high school will be able to know how to talk and express their feelings in Arabic. فرحان – فرحانة زعلان – زعلانة جوعان – جوعانة عطشان - عطشانة غضبان- غضبانة مندهش – مندهشة They will ask and answer questions about others feelings. كيف تشعر ؟ أنا فرحان أنا زعلان Talk about a picture and describe people’s feelings in pictures هو زعلان هي زعلانة We will be dong a feeling circle in which every body welcome someone and ask him or her about his or her feeling. If his or her feeling is a positive feeling, everybody will show his happiness towards this but if it is not a positive one everyone will show sympathy by saying " we are with you. I expect they will struggle in saying the sentences so I will keep repeating them till they master them. .
