It is a class in which I teach my students at Campus international high school( Arabic 1 ) how to ask and answer questions about their lives, families and jobs. We are acting a scene of a person who his just met some people at a public place for the first time and he asks them questions and he answers some of their questions in Arabic. . By the end of the unit, the students will be able to, ask and answer general questions about themselves and families. They also will be able to conduct an interview with some people.

1.Students will be able to speak out 12 words about jobs correctly. 2.Students will be able to recognize and write the right pinyin about the 12 words about jobs. 3.Students will be able to make short dialogues with the sentence patterns, using the words to ask somebody about his job. nǐ/ tā /tā zuò shénme/gōng zuò? ------你/他/她 做什么工作?(What do you/he/she do?) ---------wǒ/tā /tā shì lǎo shī /gāo zhōng shēng /dà xué sheng 我/他/她 是 老 师/ 高中生/大学生(I am/ He /She is…) 4. Students will be able to present a Chinese passage about the family, including telling people the status of themselves and the jobs that their family members are doing at the end of this lesson. By the end of this month-unit-plan, students will be able to: 1- Recognize the countries and capitals in the Arab World. 2- Ask about the nationality and where people are from. 3- Make sentences using different subject pronouns. 4- Name family members and speak about their families. 5- Use adjective to describe the shape of the body. 6- Ask questions about how others look like. 7- Name some animals and birds. 8- Name some jobs and places where people work. 9- Use some action words to describe activities and where they are performed. 10- Identify some common vehicles in the town. 11- Differentiate between time periods within a day (Re. Greetings). 12- Count from twenty to a hundred. 13- Use demonstrative pronouns to form meaningful sentences. 14- Ask about and tell the time. 15- Say the four directions (north , south, east, west)

• Ask and answer questions about the size of my family and my friends’ families, someone’s occupation and nationality. • Talk about family members, including their names and relationship to me and how many brothers and sisters I have. • Recognize characters for family members and different countries. • Identity extended Chinese family vocabulary. • Exchange basic information about family members such as relationship and names and where I live. • Write brief descriptions of my family. • Use graphic organizers to compare families from different cultures.
