Tsai Yueh-Wen
Bio
Tsai Yueh-Wen is originally from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She received her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from National Hsin Chu Teachers College (now National Tsing Hua University) and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from National Taitung University. Ms. Tsai has been an English elementary school teacher at Taitung County Xin Sheng Elementary School since 2014. She also leads students to participate in yearly Readers Theater Contest and Reading Contest in Taitung, and has won both first and second place throughout her years of teaching. In 2018, she received a certificate of merit from the Mayor of Taitung for being a dedicated teacher. Ms. Tsai enjoys reading, watching movies, and going on road trips. During her year in the United States, she is looking forward to expanding her horizons by sharing her mother tongue and culture with the teachers and students in the U.S. Her primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to become a capable Chinese teacher for her U.S. students and to strife building mutual understanding between Taiwan and the U.S. Ms. Tsai was hosted by District of Columbia International School in Washington, DC.
