Main Profile for Chi Jiu-Ching

Chi Jiu-Ching is from Kaohsiung, Taiwan and received her doctoral degree in Education from National Sun Yat-sen University. She has been an English teacher at Le-chyun Elementary School since 2005. In addition, she is a section chief and a bilingual education coordinator, working to organize English learning activities. Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling, working out, and playing table tennis. During her year in the United States, she is looking forward to experiencing American culture and working with students, teachers and local community members. Her primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to inspire students to appreciate the Mandarin language and culture. Lastly, she hopes to share her teaching experience in America with various educational partners in Taiwan. Ms. Chi will be hosted by Vanguard Van Gogh Elementary and Secondary in Pharr, TX.
