Mohamed Mehanny

Bio
Mohamed Mehanny is from Minia, Egypt. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Minia University, a Professional Diploma in Education. He completed an online training course for Access Program Teachers at University of Oregon. He has been teaching English at Minia Experimental Language School since 2004 and has finished his Professional Certificate English Language Teaching. He is a current participant in the Shaping the Ways We Teach English Webinars. He is interested in reading and theater. Mr. Mohamed's primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to teach his host community about his Arabic culture and language. He is also interested in exploring how the United States education system works in hopes of gaining experience with the latest techniques in teaching within the U.S. classroom. He was hosted by the International School at Thornton Middle (800 students and 42 teachers) in Thornton, Colorado (pop. 122,000). Mr. Mohamed was an alumni buddy for the 2016-2017 year and 2017-2018 year.
