Martha Gadsden
Bio
Martha Liliana Gadsden is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish-English from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional in Colombia. She has visited England through the Immersion Program in May of 2001, and she was a Visiting International Faculty (VIF) member in the U.S. from 2004 to 2007. Currently, she is a Spanish teacher in Berkley High School and also the Foreign Language Department Chair. She has been teaching in the U.S. for six years and in Colombia for ten years. Mrs. Gadsden received the New Teacher of the Year award in the Centro Colombo Americano in 2000 and the Sweetest Lesson Award at Berkeley High School in 2008-2009. She is married and has three dogs; two here in Charleston and one in Colombia with her family. Aside from teaching, she enjoys music, singing and playing the guitar.
She was the mentor teacher for Lu Xin in 2011-2012. She was also the mentor teacher for Ru Yi during the 2010-2011 academic year.
