Gerardo Guzman Rico

Bio
Gerardo Guzman Rico was born in Mexico City, but grew up in the Mexican countryside, where he moved when he was eight years old. He moved to the United States when he was 19 years old without speaking English. Now he is the dual language coordinator at Thomas Edison Language Institute. He obtained his bachelor's in liberal studies in 2006 and began teaching the same year. He earned a master's degree in school administration in 2017 and a second master's in Spanish in 2018. He got into teaching because school was always the place where he felt safe and at ease, and he wanted all students entrusted to his care to feel the same way. Mr. Guzman Rico was the mentor teacher for Abdelilah El Alaoui from Laayoune, Morocco (2018-2019).
