Laura Koebel

Bio
Laura Koebel is originally from Plymouth, Wisconsin. Attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies. She also received a Masters degree in Foreign Language and Literature and Spanish Translation from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. At present, she is a Spanish teacher at Plymouth Comprehensive High School, where she has been since 2001. Additionally, she is her school’s World Language Club Advisor. Ms. Koebel has been teaching for eight years and loves her job, because she feels it is the best way to bring the world to her students through language and culture. Ms. Koebel has served as an inspirational mentor-teacher for an Academic Scholars Awards Banquet for four years. A travel-lover, she previously lived in Madrid and Barcelona; and has visited every country in Western European, plus New Zealand, Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Morocco and Mexico. She now lives with her husband with whom she owns a music store. Ms. Koebel also enjoys reading, studying languages, biking and dancing.

She was the mentor teacher for Salah Mohamed during the 2011-2012 academic year, and for Ez Eldin Salem in 2010-2011 academic year.
