Li Yi is originally from Taian, China. She received her bachelor’s degree in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Qufu Normal University. She later earned her master’s degree in linguistics from Yunnan Nationality University. She also studied in South Korea for one academic year as an exchange student. She has been a Chinese teacher at Taian No. 6 Middle School since 2012. She was honored to win first prize in the 14th Innovation Teaching Competition in Taian, and then to be named Advanced Teaching Individual in Taishan District. Ms. Li’s primary objective for participating in TCLP is to expand her cultural knowledge of the United States, and share her culture with her students. She was hosted by Athens High School in The Plains, OH.
