Tina Cannon
Bio
Tina Cannon is originally from Boulder, Colorado. She pursued her education in Arabic at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where she was Class Valedictorian and received the Commandant’s Award. She has presented at the Utah Foreign Language Association Annual Conference, and participated in the Intensive Summer Language Institutes program. She is completing a degree in writing at Brigham Young University. She is currently a K-12 Arabic teacher at Renaissance Academy, a position she has held since 2010. She has helped direct drama productions at the school. Tina taught music before becoming an Arabic teacher. She became a teacher because she loves to see children learn, and to help them discover their potential. She has now been teaching for four years. She is married with four boys and two girls, ranging in age from 8-19. She enjoys music, has competed internationally with her chorus, and she enjoys helping students with musical and dramatic productions. She also enjoys reading, and would love to travel and see more of the world.
