Adel Ghattas
Bio
Adel Ghattas is originally from Asyut, Egypt. He received his bachelor’s degree in English language teaching & methodology from Assiut University. He also studied English language education at the University of Strathclyd in Glasgow, Scotland. He has been a senior teacher of English at Assiut STEM School for the past 2 years. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he also serves as a capstone teacher and as the school’s English club faculty sponsor. He has a wife and a seven-year-old daughter. Mr. Ghattas’ primary objectives for participating in TCLP are learning more about American life and culture and enhancing his teaching performance by gaining experience in an American school. He was hosted by John W. Lavelle Preparatory Charter School in Staten Island, NY and was the alumni buddy to Ibrahim Ibrahim for the 2018-2019 year and to Manal Salem for 2019-2020. He is currently an alumni buddy to Lahoucine Azergui for 2020-2021.
