Liu Xiaozhu
Bio
Liu Xiaozhu is originally from Anshan, China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the Adult Education School of Dalian Foreign Language University and a master’s degree in TESOL from Newcastle University, England. Ms. Liu has been an English teacher at Angang Senior High School since 2009. Previously, she worked as an English teacher at No.13 Senior High School from 2005 to 2009. She has been a head teacher for eight years, and has received awards including "Excellent mentor in the 13th National Innovation English Contest," while one of her classes was awarded "The Distinction of Provincial Excellent Class." Ms. Liu enjoys traveling, sports, music, and spending time with her husband and daughter. Her primary objectives for participating in TCLP are to help U.S. schools strengthen Mandarin programs and to share Chinese culture and language with U.S. students. Meanwhile, she wants to learn more about English, U.S. teaching methodologies, and culture that can be used in her future teaching. She was hosted by Battle Mountain High School in Edwards, Colorado.
