Candace Hatcher

Bio
Candace Hatcher is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech-language pathology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She worked as a speech pathologist in various settings in Georgia and Alabama. She became interested in culturally and linguistically different students and returned to school to complete a master’s degree in education from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 2010. Since that time, she has worked as an English as a Second Language teacher for Huntsville City Schools. She became a National Board Certified Teacher in English as a New or Other Language in November, 2012. She has travelled to China and anticipates return visits. During the 2014-2015 year, Ms. Hatcher was the mentor teacher for Li Xiulan from Liaoning, China. This year Ms. Hatcher was the mentor teacher for Feng Nan from Sichuan, China.
