Phil Chisholm

Bio
Mr. Chisholm was born in Canada and graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He attended St. John's Seminary in Brighton, Massachusetts with the intention of becoming a Catholic Priest, but eventually decided to become a high school teacher. He moved to Michigan where he received his teaching certification and completed a Master of Arts in U.S. History in a Global Context from Madonna University. Mr. Chisholm has taught for 15 years and currently teaches College Prep World History, Advanced Placement U.S. History, and Advanced Placement World History. For five years he has read for the College Board, AP World History exam. He moderates the National Honor Society and is the Social Studies Department Chair. Mr. Chisholm went into teaching because he enjoys helping students develop advanced reading and writing skills. He is married, and enjoys art and sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings Hockey team. He used to coach basketball. Mr. Chisholm plans to study Chinese in the 2011-2012 academic year. He is the mentor teacher for Chen Linlin from Beijing, China.
