Mariam Ali

Bio
Mariam Ali was born in Palestine and moved to the United States at the age of 15. She has been living in Chicago, Illinois since 1981. Ms. Ali received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University in Chicago. She has been teaching Arabic since 2008 and also teaches advanced reading to third through fifth graders. She was a third grade classroom teacher from 1998-2007. Ms. Ali became a teacher because she loves learning and enjoys seeing others learn and grow. As of 2012, she has been teaching for fourteen years. Ms. Ali has been a National Board certified teacher since 2009. During her college years, she was on the president's lists and was a member of the National Honors Society.

Ms. Ali was the mentor teacher for Fatma El Sakhawy from Cairo, Egypt (2008-2009) and Yasser Abdelgalil from Luxor, Egypt (2012-2013).
