Hanan Gawdat

Bio
Ms. Gawdat is from Cairo, Egypt and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Grammar from the Department of Arts at Cairo University. She has received her diploma in Diverse Learners from the American University in Cairo in Egypt. She has been teaching English for 26 years at several schools and is starting a new position as School Director. She currently teaches at Al Syada Aisha Language School. Ms. Gawdat has participated in many training workshops organized by the British Council and the American University in Cairo, which have helped develop her way of thinking and teaching methods. She has traveled to many countries, including England, Japan, and Kuwait. She enjoys reading, walking, fine arts, cinema, theater, and concerts. Her main objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to create a better understanding of Arabic language among Americans and to explore classroom management and motivate U.S. students. She was hosted by Southern Lehigh Middle School (500 students and 43 teachers) in Center Valley, Pennsylvania (pop. 22,000). Ms. Gawdat was an alumni buddy for the 2016-2017 year and 2017-2018 year.
