Cao Yanna
Bio
Cao Yanna is from Beijing and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Capital Normal University, where she is now studying for her Masters degree in English teaching. Since 2004 she has been teaching English at Huairou No. 1 Senior High School in Beijing, China (2,375 students, aged 15-18), a key school in Beijing. She has won First Prizes in the Young Teachers’ Teaching Ability Contest at the school and district levels, and an Outstanding Youth Expert Award for the Huairou District. She also leads her school’s Community Youth League, Student Union, and several student associations and activities such as English Corner, Model United Nations and Drama club. Her objectives for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program were to be a good ambassador of cultural exchange by introducing Chinese language and Chinese culture to American students.
