Li Hui
Bio
Li Hui is from Changchun. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of International Relations in Beijing and is working towards her Masters degree in Chinese Teaching and Education at Northeast Normal University. She has been teaching English at Changchun No. 1 Middle School (approximately 10,000 students and 500 teachers) since 2003. Currently Ms. Li is also the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs at her school, where she has worked with more than 1,000 visiting educators and students from North America, Singapore and Britain. Ms. Li’s hobbies include swimming, playing badminton and singing. Her primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program was to use Chinese culture, such as Tai Chi, Chinese folk songs, calligraphy and opera, to help the U.S. students improve their understanding of Chinese language; she would also like to explore teaching methodologies and student assessment techniques in the United States.
