TCLP Teachers Meet U.S. Senator
Exchange teachers and their mentors introduce Wisconsin Senator to TCLP

Exchange teachers Nashaat Mehany and Xing Yali experienced an exciting turn of events on their flight from Washington, DC to their U.S. host communities following the TCLP orientation in August.

Both exchange teachers were accompanied by mentor teachers from their host schools, who recognized that one of their fellow passengers was Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin. After introducing themselves and the program, the exchange teachers had an opportunity to pose for pictures with the senator from their host state.

Mr. Mehany and Ms. Xing are both hosted by TCLP alumni schools in Wisconsin this year. Tomah High School hosted exchange teacher Mohamed Ali last year and will continue to develop its Arabic program in the upcoming year with the help of TCLP. Madison East High School, which has hosted Arabic TCLP teachers in the past, will offer students a chance to study Mandarin for the first time during the 2015-2016 academic year under Ms. Xing.
