I have done a multifunctional capstone project, including Arabic Language and Moroccan Culture. I set a basic curriculum for kindergarteners. I also established a Virtual Club called "Taqaddam" (Face the Future) where I have shared with Parents and Guardians different aspects of the Moroccan culture such as cuisine, traditional clothes and celebrations. I also created a Digital Library and entitled it "Today a Reader,Tomorrow a Leader" to encourage kids to read at an early age.
According to my Mandarin project-based learning, I organize my students in America (Batesville Intermediate School) and China (Chengdu Paotongshu Primary School Tianfu Campus) to share their life and culture to each other by recording videos both in
My capstone project is called “Get to know China” with the purpose of attracting more students to sign up for Mandarin in the high school, developing a curriculum that can be passed down, promoting better cultural understanding between the US and China, and building a sister school partnership.
The project took place in Seventy First High School, Fayetteville, NC. Most people in my community have a very limited exposure to the Arabic culture. Many families in my local community have at least one member in the army or planning to join the army at some point in their life.
My project is to introduce Chinese Culture in my Chinese Club. During the Chinese Lunar New Year, we learned about the origin and celebration of the Spring Festival. I organized a dinner party with my students and club members. I showed then how to make dumplings, and we made the dumplings together. I also cooked some Chinese dishes for the party. We also watched the Spring Gala on CCTV. My students and I went on a field trip to Jackson College to participate the celebration there.
My capstone project is the Arabic club and Arab culture. I announced at my host school that there will be Arabic club in which students of different classes will join it and learn Arabic through different fun activities, moreover, they will learn about the Egyptian culture as there are too many items that are related to the Egyptian cultures such as Egyptian clothing, pharaohs masks and papyrus and there are also some language games.
Butter lovers-(梁祝) also known as "China's Romeo and Juliet" is a Chinese legend of a tragic love story of a pair of lovers. The most popular love story in China tells the legend of two 4th century Chinese lovers who could not marry due to different family backgrounds. After the hero dies of a broken heart, the heroine leaps on his grave and the two turn into a butterfly couple after their deaths. For centuries, the story has been adapted into traditional operas, movies and TV plays.
With a twist on multiple intelligences, my capstone project will allow students to contribute student-selected projects that will be showcased during Faust's First Annual Chinese Celebration. Students will be given a list of small projects they can choose from, individually or in a small group, that peaks their interests, builds on their specific intelligence and showcases Chinese Language and culture. The goal is to invite the entire school community to Chinese Celebration to participate in the event.
