Luo Qiumei
Bio
Luo Qiumei is from Hezhou, China and received her bachelor's degree in English from Shaanxi Normal University. She has been an English teacher at Hezhou No. 2 Senior High School since 2017. Additionally, she is a head teacher and has won first prize in the Hezhou Teaching Skills Competition for Primary and Secondary School Teachers. She also received the award for Excellent Head Teacher of Hezhou No. 2 Senior High School. Outside of teaching, she enjoys traveling, cooking and reading. During her year in the United States, she is looking forward to traveling around the U.S., celebrating many holidays and trying different food. Her primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to improve her professional competencies and learn more about American teaching methodologies, culture and society. Upon returning to China, she hopes to share American culture and the English language with her students in China. Ms. Luo will be hosted by OB Gates Elementary School in Chesterfield, VA.
