Cheng Yu-Chen
Bio
Cheng Yu-Chen is from Pingtung City, Taiwan and received her master's degree in information and learning technology from National Tainan University. She has been an English teacher at Daciao Elementary School since 2020. In addition, she is a representative of bilingual education and has served as a reading and administrative teacher at Beimen Elementary School for four years. At both Daciao and Beimen she has been responsible for the reader’s theater club. Outside of school, she enjoys sports like yoga, hiking, and skiing, as well as playing guitar, reading, and art. During her year in the United States, she is looking forward to trying section hikes of the PCT, celebrating Thanksgiving, and sharing Chinese New Year with her students. Her primary objective for participating in the Teachers of Critical Languages Program is to promote Mandarin culture in an American school and community, hoping to enhance students' motivation to learn Mandarin. Ms. Cheng will be hosted by German International School in Beaverton, OR.
