Benedict McKarty
Bio
Dr. Benedict McKarty is originally from Rwanda. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2011. He received his doctorate degree in educational leadership from Keiser University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and his master's degree in Francophone Studies and French teaching from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He also holds a higher degree in development studies from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the Urbana University (Roma /Italy). Dr. McKarty is currently a French teacher at the International High School of New Orleans, a position he has held since 2016. He is also the World Languages Department Chair and has engaged in American Public Education and served as a high school French teacher. Dr. McKarty became a teacher to in order to help young people learn how to cooperate and work together in a classroom and wants his students to engage in important content material. He has now been teaching for 26 years. Dr. McKarty is the mentor teacher to Azeddine Mouhsin from Marrakech, Morocco.
