Olivia Howe

Bio
Olivia Howe is originally from Des Moines, Iowa. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Iowa State University and Master of Arts in Education from Drake University. She is currently the International Baccalaureate Coordinator and Instructional Coach at Hoover High School, a position she has held since 2012. She spent three years teaching in Mexico City, Mexico and has also taught English Language Learners and American Government in the Des Moines school district. Ms. Howe’s first career in journalism included roles as a writer at the San Antonio Express-News and Des Moines Register, where she still does freelance work. She became a teacher to help inspire teenagers to become excited about learning and ultimately, prepare them with skills to reach their potential and goals. She has taught for six years. Ms. Howe is the mentor teacher for Wang Wenzhao from Xi’an, China.
