Richard Aponte

Bio
Richard Aponte was an integral part of the school’s Intervention and Administrative Teams. One of his primary responsibilities was to ensure compliance with the DOE Citywide Standards of Behavior school and classroom rules. He fulfilled all the traditional responsibilities of a school dean and imposed consequences fairly, quickly and consistently. He also placed great emphasis on early intervention and conflict prevention and resolution. To this end Mr. Aponte worked closely with parents, teachers administrators and Community-Based Organizations, such as the Children’s Aid Society. As a Technology Liaison, Mr. Aponte assisted teachers and administrators in infusing technology across the curriculum; he conceived, developed and presented a variety of useful and effective Professional Development Workshops and other presentations for the GLC teachers. Richard Aponte is the mentor teacher for Fathy Mohamed.
