Zhao Shuang

Bio
Zhao Shuang was born and raised in Tianjin, China. She holds a Masters Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and also holds two bachelor degrees. She has spent the past nine years working at TEDA International School in Tianjin, China. In addition to serving as the head of the Chinese department, she has also served as a member of the school's curriculum development committee, and as the secretary of the steering committee. She received the Excellent Teaching award from the local government for Excellent Teacher in 2009. Ms. Zhao has taught a wide range of students from K to 12 and from beginners to native speakers. She is an active organizer of many different school-wide activities. Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling. She hopes the Teachers of Critical Languages program will broaden her experiences. Ms. Zhao was hosted by Pinedale Middle School (235 students and 25 teachers) in Pinedale, Wyoming (pop. 2,500). She was an alumni buddy to Ji Peipei for the 2016-2017 year.
