Rose Hansen

Bio
Rose Hansen is originally from Nampa, Idaho. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Second Language Teaching and Learning from Hampshire College, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from Middlebury College. In the summer of 2006, she participated in the Hampshire College Summer Language Program in Hefei, Anhui province, China. In the spring of 2009, she was a Conversational English Teacher at Anhui Agricultural University in China, and in the summer of 2011 she participated in the Intensive Summer Language Institutes program. She is currently a Mandarin Chinese teacher at Phelps Architecture, Engineering, and Construction High School in Washington, D.C., a position she has held since 2009. Ms. Hansen also teaches students guitar during the after school Guitar Club. She became a teacher to help teenagers understand people and cultures outside of their local community, and has now been teaching for two years. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, yoga, Middle Eastern dance (raqs sharqi), and playing guitar.

She was the mentor teacher for Qi Ji from Shenyang Experimental School in Shenyang, China.
