Lisa Dean

Bio
Lisa Dean is originally from Ripley, West Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. She also has an Endorsement in Spanish and is certified to teach English as a Second Language. She is currently the English as a Second Language teacher at Cullowhee Valley School, a position she has held since August of 2003. She has also taught in the regular classroom for fifth and third grades, and has taught Spanish as a foreign language to kindergarten through eighth grade students. She became a teacher because she loves learning new things herself and enjoys passing that passion on to others. She has been teaching for 18 years. Ms. Dean is married, and has two children, ages 14 and 17. She enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, camping and hiking. This coming year, they will also have a 16-year-old exchange student from Germany living with them.

She was the mentor teacher to Li Shumeng from the Middle School (Mingzhu Campus) Attached to Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China in 2011-2012.
