Yasser Beshay

Bio
Yasser Beshay is from Asyut, Egypt. He received his bachelor’s degree in English literature from Assiut University. He has been a teacher at the Assiut STEM School since 2017 and has designed STEM curricula there. Mr. Beshay also tutors students in English and helps them prepare for the TOEFL and IELTS exams through E-Planet Educational Services. He enjoys reading and playing piano and guitar in his free time. He has a wife and two children. While in the United States, Mr. Beshay is looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, celebrating different national holidays, sharing his cultural holidays with his students, and developing as a teacher. His primary objectives for participating in TCLP are to enhance his teaching experience, learn from the methodologies applied in American schools, and enjoy the experience of teaching Arabic to English-speaking students. He hopes this will be a great learning experience, and he will apply what he learns in Egypt. For the 2019-2020 school year, Mr. Beshay taught Arabic at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington, DC. This year, he will be hosted by Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, KY.
