Nermeen Aboughoneim

Bio
Nermeen Aboughoheim is from Alexandria, Egypt. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from the Faculty of Education and pursued post graduate studies in TESOL at the University of Edinburgh. She has been an English teacher at Wasel School since 2010 and is also responsible for a training unit in her school. She has participated in choosing new material for her school, and was able to evaluate syllabi according to criteria she studied in Edinburgh. Ms. Aboughoneim enriched her classroom by implementing what she learned outside the country. She enjoys reading, writing, and drawing. She has a husband and three children. During her year in the U.S., she looked forward to experiencing American traditions and sharing her cultural holidays with her students. Her primary objective for participating in TCLP was sharing culture between the U.S. and Egypt. She was hosted by PSJA Memorial Early College High School in Alamo, TX. For the 2023-2024 academic year, Nermeen Aboughoneim will serve as an Alumni Buddy for exchange teacher Laila El Baghazaoui.
