Chen Yanyi
Bio
Chen Yanyi is from Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China and received her bachelor's degree in English from Guangxi Teachers Education University. She has been an English teacher at Liuzhou No.3 Middle School since 2007. She is also a grade deputy director and the head of English teaching group. She has repeatedly been recognized as "excellent teacher" and "outstanding teacher.” She enjoys reading, watching movies, and photography. During her year in the U.S., Ms. Chen looked forward to experiencing authentic American lifestyle and sharing cultural holidays with her students. Her primary objective for participating in TCLP was to make it possible for American students to not only learn Mandarin, but also learn about the colorful and rich Chinese culture, including some minority cultures in her home region. She hoped American students could learn about China while she learned about American teaching methodologies, culture, and society. She was eager to share her experiences with students back home. She was hosted by Lane Tech College Preparatory High School in Chicago, IL.
