Teresita Pollinger is originally from San Juan de los Yeras, Cuba. Her family relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y. where she began attending Brooklyn College. She graduated from college as an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) student where she had the good fortune of meeting students from all over the world. After college, it was exciting for her to enter the field of public education, and she then completed her master's degree at the Teachers College, Columbia University. Over the past 30 years she has taught both elementary and high school in New York and Florida. She was the mentor teacher to Liang Min from Mianyang, China (2019-2020).
