Edward Alston

Bio
Mr. Alston is originally from Albany, New York. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Russian Language and Literature from the University at Albany. As part of his undergraduate degree, he studied abroad at the Maurice Thorez Institute of Foreign Languages in Moscow. Mr. Alston received his Advanced Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University at Albany in 2001, and he has been a certified school administrator in New York State since 2002. He is currently the Director of Foreign Languages, a position that he has held for the past nine years. Mr. Alston teaches both Russian and French at Niskayuna. He is also a member of the faculty at Union Graduate School where he teaches Foreign Language Teaching Methods. He began a career in education, in order to share his love of languages with others. This year he completes his 33rd year in the teaching profession.

Mr. Alston was the mentor teacher for Su Lijing from Dalian, China in 2011-2012. He was also the mentor teacher for Fan Caiping from Taiyuan, China in 2010-2011.
