Wu Yu
Bio
Wu Yu is originally from Chengdu, China. She received a degree in business from Ningxia University. She has been a teacher of English at Chengdu Foreign Languages School since 2000. She has also been a language and culture facilitator with Peace Corps China and the International Education College of Southwest University of Finance and Economics, as well as head coach for her school’s United States Academic Decathlon program. Ms. Wu enjoys sketching portraits and sharing music and traditional Chinese culture with her colleagues. She has a husband and a 10-year-old daughter. During her year in the US, Ms. Yu looked forward to meeting as many people as possible and hoped to share this cross-cultural experience with her husband and daughter. Her goals for participating in TCLP were to grow as a teacher and as an educational leader and to establish a friendship between her host and home schools. She was hosted by Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ.
