Chen Ken

Bio
Chen Ken is originally from Chengdu, China. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from Chengdu University. She has been an English teacher at Chengdu Xingzhi Primary School since 2007 and is the supervisor of English teachers there. She has received several accolades for her teaching, including first prize from the Chengdu Primary School English Teaching Competition. She was also named a Jinniu District Leader Teacher of English. Ms. Chen enjoys outdoor activities (such as trekking, tennis, cycling, and running), traveling, reading, and watching movies. During her year in the United States, Ms Ken looked forward to celebrating both American and Chinese holidays with her students and participating in activities at her host school and in the community. She hoped to join a tennis club or team. Ms. Chen’s primary objective for participating in TCLP was to familiarize herself with the American education system through personal experience and she thought that teaching abroad will be invaluable to her teaching career. She was hosted by Moos Elementary School in Chicago, IL, was the alumni buddy to Zhang Mengmeng for 2019-2020, and is the alumni buddy for Chang Ying-Yi.
