Adriana Clavijo

Bio
Adriana Clavijo was born in Bogota, Colombia. When she was a child, her family moved to Puerto Rico and then to New Jersey. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and a master’s degree in philosophy from New York University. She currently teaches in the world language department at Columbia High School and has been teaching Spanish for 13 years. Ms. Clavijo also is on a committee for social justice and social intelligence at her school. She became a teacher because she believes in improving the world by tapping into the potential of young learners. Ms. Clavijo was the mentor teacher to Niu Xiuqing from Beijing, China (2017-2018) and Wu Yu from Chengdu, China (2018-2019).
