Anita Benedix
Bio
Anita Benedix is originally from Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education for Social Studies and German from Lock Haven University. She also has a Master of Art Degree in Secondary Education for History from East Stroudsburg University. She is currently a teacher at Southern Lehigh Middle School, a position she has held since 2005, and a Social Studies Subject Area Leader. She became a teacher because she wanted to inspire students to develop a love of learning. She has now been teaching for 8 years. Ms. Benedix traveled to Germany and Austria as a high school student, which inspired her to participate in further travel. After spending a semester in Germany as part of a university program, she traveled around other parts of Europe including Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. She is happily married and has two daughters ages 4 and 2. She loves to travel, read, spend time outdoors, and spend time with family. She was the mentor teacher for Alshimaa Nofal Salama from Elnasr Girl’s College in Alexandria, Egypt and Hanan Gawdat from Cairo, Egypt.
