Judith Painter

Bio
Judith Painter is originally from Wiesbaden, Germany and Salem, Virginia. She received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social sciences with minors in secondary education and Asian studies from James Madison University. She received her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with instructional technology and geography from Virginia Tech. She received her National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult/History and Social Sciences in 1999 and is a current National Board Certified Teacher. She is currently a teacher at Andrew Lewis Middle School, a position she has held since 2007. She is also a mentor teacher for student teachers, sponsor of the Geographic Information System Club, and co-sponsor of the Chess Club. She became a teacher in order to encourage others to have a passion about the world and each individual's role in it, and has now been teaching for 23 years in all. Mrs. Painter was the mentor teacher for Yin Qian from Beijing, China.
