Tianya Zhao

Bio
Tianya Zhao received her bachelor’s degree in history in 1986 from Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. She earned her Chinese language teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1986. She is currently a Chinese language teacher at Milwaukee School of Languages, a position she has held since 2005. Ms. Zhao started her teaching career in 1986 at Huairen 2nd High School, where she taught Chinese, history and philosophy. From 1987-2000 she worked as a researcher and educator on Chinese relics at the Shanxi Provincial Museum in China. Prior to her tenure at Milwaukee School of Languages, she worked part time as a Chinese language teacher. This year Mrs. Zhao is the mentor teacher for Liu Jia from Hubei, China.
