Main Profile for Chen Xiaomei

Chen Xiaomei is from Jiangxi province. She holds a bachelor’s degree in technical English from Jiangxi Normal University and a master’s degree in English language literature from Jiangxi Normal University. Since 2010, she has taught English at Linchuan No.1 Middle School. She is an active teacher in her school community and received awards in numerous contests including ones that focused on teaching skills. Ms. Chen lives with her husband and her son. She enjoys reading, traveling and practicing yoga. Her goals for participating in TCLP include bringing traditional Chinese culture to U.S. classrooms and connecting American and Chinese students to one another. She also hopes to learn more about U.S. teaching methodologies and American culture and society. Ms. Chen was hosted by Hope Chinese Charter School in Portland, Oregon.
