Xing Lei

Bio
Xing Lei is from Dalian in the Liaoning Province and holds a master's degree in English linguistics and literature. She has taught in the Dalian University of Foreign Languages since 2000 (20,000 students and 500 teachers). Ms. Xing has received several awards during her career, including third prize in 2006 for her article, "Reflections on the Teaching of English Writing through Think-Aloud Experiments." Additionally, in 2004, she was formally lauded after implementing her project, "The Application of the Compensation Hypothesis in Intensive Reading Class." Ms. Xing has also worked as a translator and interpreter.

Ms. Xing was hosted by Shawnee Mission High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, during the 2007-2008 academic year. Along with receiving CPR training and seeing Broadway plays, she was also very successful in the classroom, particularly with the creation of supplemental materials in anticipation of the AP Chinese exam in the spring.
