Chicago Elementary School Celebrates Arabic Culture
TCLP Arabic Teacher plans an end-of-the-year cultural celebration

Wrapping up the school year in June, TCLP exchange teacher Samar Abdelfatah and her students at Peterson Elementary School planned an event to demonstrate what they learned about Arabic language and culture from the past year. More than 70 student participated this celebration to perform Arabic songs, plays, and cultural dances. To bid goodbye to their teacher, the students also shared video in which they conducted interviews with students from different grades describing their experiences in Arabic class.

This year, Peterson Elementary School will welcome another TCLP teacher to continue building its Arabic program as one of 23 U.S. host schools for the 2016-17 academic year. Read about all of the TCLP schools and teachers here.
