Mohammed Etify

Bio
Mohammed Etify is originally from El-Ghanayem, Egypt. He received a bachelor degree in education from Asyut University and was awarded a TESOL diploma from the University of Edinburgh. He is a senior teacher of English at Omar Ibn Al-khattab, where he runs the English club, organizes extra-curricular activities for students, and takes part in school supervision. He has previously worked at other schools. In 2008, he was awarded a scholarship to study in the UK, where he visited a variety of schools and observed teachers of different subjects. He has previously trained junior teachers and was awarded the school ideal teacher honor in 2017. Mr. Etify enjoys brisk walking, watching documentaries, and listening to music. During his year in the US, he is looking forward to celebrating American national holidays and meeting people from diverse backgrounds. His goal for participating in TCLP was to gain experience with American teaching methodologies and share what he learns with those back home. He was hosted by Anne Chesnutt Middle School in Fayetteville, NC, was an alumni buddy to Tamer Genedy for 2019-2020, and is the alumni buddy for Bouslam Abaid. He is also the Arabic Cohort Leader for the 2018-2019 group. For the 2023-2024 academic year, Mohammed Etify will serve as an Alumni Buddy for exchange teacher Ezzat Belal.
