Bio:
Shanelle Frances Muse is originally from Colonia, New Jersey. She received her bachelor’s degree in K-6 Education and Family & Child Studies from Montclair State University. In 2016, she earned her master’s degree in a School Counseling/Clinical Counseling Program from Kean University. In 2019, at Kean University, she completed an Educational Leadership, Supervisor/Principal program. She is currently a school counselor at Alfred S. Faust Intermediate School. She became a teacher in 2009 because she wanted to serve the under-served students; and after teaching for six years, she realized that students walk into the classroom with issues of hunger, poverty, safety, sanity and fear, thus resulting in uncertainty that can permeate throughout their lives. She felt that going through a clinical counseling and school counseling program would allow her to better serve the needs of her students. She was the mentor teacher at Learning Community Charter School in Jersey City, New Jersey to Shi Cuilian from Zibo, China (2016-2017) and Li Chunxia from Dalian, China (2017-2018). At Faust Intermediate, she was the mentor teacher to Lu Sulin from Ziyang, China (2019-2020).
