Goals (What should students know & be able to do by the end of the unit?):
• Greet each other in Mandarin;
• Introduce themselves in Mandarin;
• Say zhongguo中国in Mandarin and identify the location of China and the hometown of the Mandarin teacher Chongqing on the map;
• Know about the class rules in Mandarin class and keep them in mind;
• Address the Mandarin teacher correctly by knowing about the cultural differences that Chinese people put their family name before the given name;
• Know about a Chinese festival: Mid-Autumn Festival and tell what people do on that day;
• Write the character yue月moon
