Capstone Abstract

According to my Mandarin project-based learning, I organize my students in America (Batesville Intermediate School)  and China (Chengdu Paotongshu Primary School Tianfu Campus) to share their life and culture to each other by recording videos both in Mandarin and English as the outcome of their language learning. In addition, after posting their videos online, they watch and give comments to the other country students’ videos in both Mandarin and English. By this capstone project, students not only can practice using the languages they learned by listening, speaking and typing, but also gain more and more interests in learning Chinese. What’s most important in the long run is that this capstone project can help students understand themselves and their cultures more by sharing it, and also broaden their horizons by learning more about the world from each other.
