After class, students will be able to: 1. know and recognize the following body parts and action words: 头 (head),眼睛 (eyes),鼻子 (nose),嘴 (mouth),耳朵 (ears),脸 (face),左手 (left hand),右手 (right hand),左脚 (left leg),右脚 (right leg),肚子 (belly); 拍(clap), 摸(rub/ touch) 2. recognize the following body parts: 手臂 (arms),腿 (leg),脚趾头 (toes),膝盖 (knees),,肩膀 (shoulders),手指头 (fingers),背 (back) 3. Use the following sentence structures: 我看到…… (I see…),我听到…… (I hear…),我吃到…… (I eat…),我闻到…… (I smell…),我摸到…… (I touch…) 。 4. Sing the song Two Tigers and change the lyrics using the body parts they learn.

Students will be able to tell basic vocabulary of family members in Chinese (dad, mum. grandpa, grandma, older brother, older sister, younger brother, younger sister, uncle and aunt). As for other Chinese vocabulary of family members either on father’s side or mother’s side, they are are optional, and will be introduced culturally, but not tested.

Through this unit, students will be able to identify miscellaneous items they can buy in relation to the names of the shops. They will be able to ask and answer questions for shopping at a stationary store in Arabic. They can also use the American currency to tell and ask about the price.
