Lesson Objectives Students will be able to recognize ten words in Chinese with Pinyin: head, hair, eye, nose, mouth, ear, shoulder, hand, knee, foot. Students will be able to use the sentence pattern in Chinese: Simon says: “ Touch……” Students will be able to sing a song called “Head, shoulder, knees and toes” in Chinese version.

Students will express the twelve animals in Chinese zodiac with Chinese and write them in Pinyin, know the story and the order of it. Students will be able to speak and recognize twelve words in Chinese: mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, pig. Students will be able to use the sentence pattern in Chinese: I was born in the year of …… . Students will be able to retell the story of Chinese zodiac with the animals in correct order.

A presentation is about Sham Alnaseem or Spring festival in Egypt. It can be used for culture presentations and/or Arabic reading practice as it has Arabic and English slides. By the end of the presentation the participants will: Know what is “ Sham Al-naseem and when did it start. Speak about what the Egyptians do on that day. Make some foods for Sham Al-naseem.
