This is the very beginning of the school year so the main task of the first month is to review what they learnt last year. When I have had an overview of what students still remember and can give reactions to, I can add in something new bit by bit. Also training students to follow classroom directions when they hear them in Chinese is essential because eventually I will be using most Chinese and little English to help if necessary. The objectives with math, as is stated in the Grade 1 trimester map, students will be able to count to 120, starting from any number less than 120.
